Leopards Win 60th Straight NBC Match, Clinch League Outright – Boys Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Boys Tennis Team shutout the host West Branch Warriors 5-0 Friday Evening at WBHS. With the win, Louisville improves to 14-3 overall and clinches the NBC outright in moving to 9-0 in conference play.

The Leopards won every match in straight sets led by Ryan Pukys who earned a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win in #1 Singles. The #1 Doubles Team of Spencer Hall and Seth Gronow duplicated that effort with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory as well.

Other Singles Winners included Nick Eneix 6-0, 6-1 and Scott Gronow 6-2, 6-4. The #2 Doubles Team of Josh White and Derek Zeller also won 6-1, 6-0 for Louisville.

The Leopards have now shutout the Warriors in each of their past four meetings and have won 22 straight dual matches against West Branch overall. Louisville now leads the all-time series 61-4 and has now won 60 straight NBC dual matches overall.

The Leopards have now won the NBC Outright in 12 of their 14 NBC Championship years. This is the sixth straight season Louisville has won the league outright and in each of the past 5 seasons the Leopards have finished a perfect 10-0 in league play. They will have a chance to go perfect again when they travel to Canton South for their final NBC match Monday.
