McCully Scores Career High 19 for Louisville
Sophomore Taylor McCully banged home 5 three-pointers and scored a career high 19 points to lead the Lady Leopards. McCully hit a pair of three-pointers in the opening quarter as Louisville took a stunning 15-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Strongsville orchestrated a 10-0 run to begin the second quarter in re-capturing the lead. The Lady Mustangs pulled ahead 30-21 at one point in the quarter, before the Lady Leopards answered back with an 8-0 run in a span of 45 seconds. Junior Riley Walters and McCully quickly hit back-to-back three-pointers. Then junior Courtney Barwick scored underneath the hoop to make it 30-29.
Strongsville scored on the other end and Louisville’s shot on the other end was an air ball pulled down by the Mustangs in the waning seconds of the first half. However, Walters snuck into the lane from behind and thieved the ball away. She also scored in the key to cut the deficit to 32-31 at the break.
Neale Scores Game High 28 to Lead Strongsville
Junior shooting guard Kennedi Neale scored 19 of her game high 28 points in the second half to lead Strongsville. She made 5 three-pointers and all but one of her points came from the field.
Neale scored 13 points in the third quarter alone as the Lady Mustangs took control of the contest. Strongsville outscored Louisville 26-19 in the third quarter to take a 58-50 lead into the final stanza.
The Lady Leopards would trim their deficit to as little as 61-57 before Neale made a shot from the top of the key to expand the Mustang advantage back up to 7. Louisville hung in the game trailing 68-62 before Neale delivered what proved to be the clinching blow on a three from the right corner with 1:16 to play.
Junior point guard Sydney Bass also made 3 three-pointers and finished with 17. Other top scorers for Strongsville included junior center Eszter Dioszegi with 14 and senior power forward Paige Bing with 9.
The Leopards are now 1-1 against the Mustangs all-time. Louisville defeated Strongsville at home last season 53-46.

Barwick and Haren Score 17 Each
Barwick and senior Brooke Haren both scored 17 points each to help lead the Lady Leopards. Barwick matched McCully and Neale with a game high 5 three-pointers. Haren poured in 12 points in the second half.
Other scorers for Louisville included junior Chay Cline with 6, Walters with 5, and senior Lexi Wasara with 4.
Haren Passes Strobelt for 2nd in Career Points
Haren made a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter to put her at 1,087 points for her varsity career. The mark eclipses Louisville’s first 1,000+ point scorer Kerri Strobelt who finished with 1,086 career points from 1978-1981.
Haren now sits in second place all-time and needs just 38 points to become the Lady Leopards all-time leading scorer. Amanda Jaeb still holds the career mark with 1,125 points scored from 2005-2008.
Haren will have a chance to set the record with at least 3 remaining games including the tournament. Louisville closes the regular season with two Federal League foes playing at Jackson on February 5 and hosting #5 state ranked Lake for Senior Night on February 7.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the Jackson Polar Bears on Monday, February 5. JV will begin at 5:30 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM.
