Leopards Place 3rd at Wooster Invitational, Girls Take 12th – Cross Country

Louisville Leopards Cross Country 3rd Place at Wooster Invitational 2021

Re-Elect Corey Street Louisville City Council AdThe Louisville Leopards Cross Country Teams competed at the Wooster Invitational Saturday Morning at Wooster High School. The Louisville Boys finished with a score of 112 to take 3rd place out of 18 competing Division I schools.

The Lady Leopards finished with 317 total places to claim 12th out of 16 DI teams.

Louisville senior Bobby Ganser finished in second place individually with a time of 15:28.4. Fellow senior Colby Adams also came in fourth place clocking in at 15:34.2 just behind GlenOak junior Thomas Rice (15:34.2) who took third and only 0.4 seconds ahead of Brunswick senior Alex Keller (15:36.0) who claimed fifth place.

Senior Owen Pukys (16:04.3) also placed 11th for the Leopards. Others scoring for Louisville included senior Sam Chlebeck (16:41.7) who came in 27th and sophomore Grant Brown (17:31.7) who took 72nd (68 Points).

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdOther LHS runners included senior Calvin Kiko (90th), sophomore Zan Keister (105th), sophomore Austin Beck (119th), and sophomore Tyrus Pinion (145th) against a field of 164 Division I runners.

The Jackson Polar Bears won the invitational with 77 total places as all five scoring runners finished in the top 28. The GlenOak Golden Eagles took second with 102 points. Brunswick senior Evan Jarold was the individual champion with a time of 15:16.1.

Up Next: The Leopards Boys Cross Country Team will next compete at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational on Friday, September 17. Race time is slated for 4:00 PM from Forest Akers East Golf Course.

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdSenior Camryn Barker placed ninth individually with a time of 19:07.4 to lead the Lady Leopards.

Other top runners for Louisville included Chloe Cole (21:41.5) who placed 73rd, junior Sophia Mackall (22:09.5) who came in 88th, senior Diana Pukys (22:18.2) who took 93rd, and senior Nadia Chaplik (22:32.2) who came in 100th. 

Jenny Can Cleaning AdOther Leopard runners included sophomore Taylor Dimmerling (105th), freshman Reese Joliat (111th), senior Aliya Shine (112th), senior Summer Gronow (115th), senior Annika Anderson (133rd), and freshman Colleen Ramsey (134th) against a field of 145 Division I runners.

The Jackson Polar Bears won the invitational finishing 6 points ahead of runner-up Brunswick 79 to 85. The Lady Bears were led by senior Sofia Istnick (18:23.3) who placed second and junior Kailey Zagst (18:32.3) who took third individually. Wadsworth senior Clare Nicholas was the individual champion clocking in with a time of 18:09.3

Up Next: The Lady Leopards Cross Country Team will next compete at the Boardman Spartan Invitational on Saturday, September 18. Race time is slated for 9:30 AM from Boardman High School.
