Volleyball Advances to District with Sweep of Perry

The #4 Seed Louisville Lady Leopards Volleyball team swept the #8 Seed Perry Panthers 25-15, 25-22, 25-12 Wednesday Evening in the DI Uniontown Sectional Finals at Lake High School. With the victory, Louisville is now 20-3 on the season.
On Offense, Savannah Miner was the team’s top server with 11 points and 4 aces. Paige Haren was also the top setter with 22 assists and both Brynn Guist & Georgia Kiko led the Leopards with 8 kills a piece.
On Defense, Grace Jackson finished with a team-leading 10 digs and Sarah Lairson added a team-best 5 blocks.
With the victory, Louisville has now won a DI Sectional Title in 5 of the past 6 seasons. The Leopards are 0-5 in those District Semifinal matches following, but will look to advance to their first ever DI District Title Game Tuesday against Canfield. The Cardinals defeated the GlenOak Golden Eagles 25-20, 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 15-12 Wednesday to setup the matchup.
Louisville also becomes just the sixth Leopards Volleyball team to win 20 games in a season (1989, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2010 were the other years). The 2000 team was the only past team to surpass the 20 win mark with a final record of 23-2.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next take on the #2 Seed Canfield Cardinals in the DI Austintown District Semifinals on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:00 PM.
