Leopards Cole and Kiko Compete at State Meet – Cross Country
OHSAA DI Cross Country State Meet
The Louisville Leopards Girls Cross Country Team had two individuals compete at the OHSAA State Meet Saturday at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. Morgan Cole placed 56th and Cassidy Kiko took 69th in the Division I race for Louisville out of a field of 173 state runners.
Bother Leopards runners beat out their regional times with Cole finishing in 19:12.6 and Kiko coming in at 19:27.6.
Centerville won the Girls Division I State Title as a team. Morgan Gigandet of Troy won the DI Girls State Meet individually with a time of 17:30.8.
DI Youngstown Regional
Cole and Kiko qualified for the State Meet last Saturday at the DI Youngstown Regional Meet held at Boardman High School. Cole placed 19th with a time of 19:14.69 and Kiko finished just behind her in 22nd with a time of 19:16.91.
The Lady Leopards qualified for Regionals as a team and placed 17th out of the 24 teams competing for a trip to Hebron. Louisville finished with 379 total places and Hudson won the Regional Championship with 91 total places.
Rounding out the scoring for Louisville was Nicole Israel in 126th (20:52.85), Iris Menegay in 139th (21:04.21), and Grace Collins in 141st (21:05.34). Other Leopard runners included Caitlyn Gatta (151st) and Elena Eimer (170th) among a field of 190 Division I Regional Runners.
Miklos Hendricks was the lone representative for the Louisville Boys at Regionals. He took 61st out of a field of 187 runners and finished with a time of 16:58.65.
