Leopards Volleyball Completes Undefeated Run Through NBC

Louisville Leopards Volleyball Undefeated NBC Champions

Louisville 25-25-25, Carrollton 15-13-22

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team swept the visiting Carrollton Warriors 25-15, 25-13, 25-22 on Senior Night Thursday at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 20-2 overall and finishes their league schedule with an unblemished mark of 14-0.

The Leopards got huge contributions from all around. Savannah Miner led all servers for the match with 10 points and 3 aces. Georgia Kiko was also the top hitter with 12 kills and Paige Haren finished with a match-leading 39 assists.

On defense, Sarah Lairson had a match-high 15 digs. Top Louisville blockers included Kayla Cole and Brynn Guist who tallied 3 each.

The Warriors (9-13, 6-8) were led by Shelbee Stidom who finished with a team-high 9 kills and Sadie Green who had a team-high 21 assists. On defense, Rachel Bright tallied a team-leading 14 digs and Kendal McFarland recorded a block. Mikayla Brannick was Carrollton’s leading server with 4 points as well.

With the victory, the Leopards have now defeated the Warriors in 4 straight meetings overall and 3 consecutive times at Louisville.

This is the second time in school history that the Leopards have finished perfect in league play. The 2000 Louisville squad also went 14-0 in NBC play. This year’s Leopards won 42 out of the 44 sets they played in the NBC, which including going a perfect 21-0 at home.

Louisville honored their 7 Senior players prior to the contest. Those Senior Leopards included Kayla Cole, Brynn Guist, Paige Haren, Georgia Kko, Sarah Lairson, Savannah Miner, and Emma Vacha. Leopard Nation would like to congratulate these Seniors on completing a perfect 14-0 run to another NBC Championship! Your hard work has made the Louisville Volleyball program the powerhouse that it is today!

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next open up tournament action against the winner of the Lake Blue Streaks and Austintown Fitch Falcons in the DI Uniontown Sectional Finals on Thursday, October 20 at 6:00 PM at Lake High School.
