Jackson 25-25-25, Louisville 9-8-23
The Louisville Lady Leopards fell to the state ranked Jackson Polar Bears 9-25, 8-25, 23-25 in the DI Uniontown Volleyball District Semifinals Wednesday at Lake High School. With the loss, Louisville finishes the season 13-11.
After being held to single digits in the first two sets, the Lady Leopards scratched and clawed in the third set before finally falling in a hard-fought game 25-23. While the results on the scoreboard didn’t favor Louisville, it was a great effort to finish the season against the top-seeded 22-3 Polar Bears.
Grace Jackson led the Lady Leopards in both digs with 15 and serving with 3 points & 1 ace. Other team leaders included Megan Stocker with 7 kills and Haley Shadle with 16 assists.
Louisville has now won 12 or more games in the past 7 out of 8 seasons under Jodie Cress as she is now 118-72 (.621) as Head Coach of the Lady Leopards. The effort displayed in the third set of Tuesday’s District Semifinal game could prove to be a building block in continuing the Louisville Volleyball Tradition for many years to come.
