Lady Leopards Take Care of Business, but Get No Help from Salem

Louisville Leopards Vs. Canton South Wildcats Girls Soccer 2014

Louisville 7, Canton South 0

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Soccer team did their part in shutting out host Canton South 7-0 Wednesday Evening at Clyde Brechbuhler Stadium. With the victory, Louisville finishes the regular season 9-5-2 overall and 6-1 in the NBC.

Rachel Baughman recorded her 7th Hat Trick of the season and tallied an assist to lead the Lady Leopards. Maddie Beatty's Sports Yellow Long Sleeved ShirtBerkebile and Hannah Baughman each had 1 goal and 1 assist each as well. Also finding the net for Louisville were Sami Keefe and Abigayle Baughman. Brianna Horton and Deana Ross also made the box score with assists.

The Lady Leopards were in complete control from start to finish and were on offense most of the night. Louisville held a 34-1 shot advantage and a 9-0 corner kick advantage. The Wildcats lone shot on goal did not come until very late in the second half.

Unfortunately for the Lady Leopards, they were powerless in stopping what was at work at the same time 36 miles away at Salem’s Reilly Stadium. The Lady Warriors defeated the Lady Quakers 3-2 as West Branch completed their undefeated 7-0-0 run through the NBC to claim the conference outright. A win by Salem would have forced a three-way tie for the league crown. Instead, Louisville stands alone in second in the final 2014 NBC Girls Soccer Standings.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the winner of Canton McKinley & GlenOak in the DI Austintown Sectional Finals on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 PM.
