Girls Soccer’s Immediate Rally Forces Tie at West Branch

The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team rallied to tie the host West Branch Warriors 2-2 in a battle for 
first place in the NBC. Louisville is now 7-1-1 overall and remains an undefeated 3-0-1 in the NBC.
Bri Horton scored two second half goals in less than a minute to lead the Leopards rally. Goalie Celia Keefe also recorded 20 saves to lead Louisville on defense.
The madness started to ensue 24 seconds before when the Warriors went ahead 2-0 via a goal by Gillian Koneval. The Leopards answered immediately on a Lindsey Bradley to Horton connection and then again 51 seconds later on a Hannah Baughman to Horton connection. All three goals were scored by players wearing the number 22 and the result was a 2-2 ball game.

Despite the flurry of goals, neither team found the net during the final 35 minutes of play. West Branch 
led in total shots for the game 27-20, but Louisville countered with a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Warriors struck first when Bailey Polinori chipped the ball up and into the net at the start of the 14th minute. This would be the only goal of the contest outside of the 1:15 scoring fest.
With the tie, Louisville now trails the all-time series 2-10-2, which includes a 1-5-1 record in games played at West Branch. The Leopards lone victory in Beloit was a 5-1 win back on October 14, 2006.
