The Lady Leopards Tennis shutout all 8 of their NBC opponents and did not lose a single set during that run. Gretchen Groves was named NBC Player of the Year and Rod Hall was named Coach of the Year.
Jason Farkas rushed for 119 of Louisville’s 253 yards on the ground & also scored 2 touchdowns during the Leopards 42-6 win over the Warriors on September 24, 1999.
Jon Herbert scored 3 touchdowns and accounted for 306 yards of offense to lead the Leopards past the Indians 36-9 on September 17, 1999. Louisville out-gained Northwest 411-143 in yardage.
The Leopards finished 17-2 overall which was the most wins in team history since 1979 and also completed a perfect 10-0 sweep of conference foes in winning their 9th NBC Championship.
Gary Whaley finished with 106 yards passing and threw a touchdown pass to Jacob Burkhart to lead the Leopards to a 7-6 win over 1st place West Branch. Curtis Elsass also rushed for 106 yards.
Both Nick Koczwara and Mackenzie Rankin captured first place individually as the Leopards swept the NBC Meet. The Boys team won their 7th consecutive title and the Girls won their 4th consecutive championship.
Ben Schmucker threw for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 2 touchdowns to lead the Leopards past the Warriors 26-6 on October 13, 2006. Louisville’s defense held West Branch three times inside the redzone.
In the preseason few critics gave the Lady Leopards a chance to win the NBC. On December 8, they used a 16-0 run to stun favorite West Branch 50-38 en rout to their third straight NBC Championship.
Trent Ohman led the Leopards offense and the defense delivered all night long to rally Louisville back from a devastating blow dealt by Alliance on September 28, 2012.
Louisville struck first when Jason Dossi recovered a fumble in the endzone, but Fostoria scored 48 unanswered points to win their 27th consecutive game and a trip to the 1992 DII State Championship game.
