The #18 seed Louisville Leopards Softball Team shut out the #2 seed Archbishop Hoban Knights 8-0 in the DIII Region 9 Regional Championship Friday afternoon at Akron Firestone Stadium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 17-13 on the season and advances to the state tournament for the second time in team history.
Louisville will take on the Mansfield Madison Comprehensive Rams in the Division III State Semifinals on Friday, June 5 at 10:00 AM from Akron Firestone Stadium.

Katelynn Miller threw a shutout to lead Louisville Varsity Leopards past Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights 8-0 on Friday at 1575 Firestone Pkwy.
Louisville Varsity Leopards got on the board in the second inning after Bailee Griffith homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Louisville Varsity Leopards extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI doubles by Miller and Addy Campbell.
Alivia Havanas started in the circle for Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights. The right-handed pitcher allowed seven hits and five runs (four earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none.
Louisville Varsity Leopards piled up 11 hits in the game. Kaitlin Twinem, Miller, and Anna Sirohman each collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Miller and Griffith each drove in two runs for Louisville Varsity Leopards.
Mariah Rankin led Archbishop Hoban Varsity Knights with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position.
