Louisville Alumni Wins Third Straight, Defeats LHS 3-1 – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Program held its annual Alumni Game Friday night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. The Louisville Alumni prevailed for the third straight season with a 3-1 win over this year’s Louisville squad to kick off the preseason.

Adams Scores for Alumni, Mayle Answers for LHS
Louisville Boys Soccer’s all-time leading scorer, 2021 graduate Riley Adams, opened the scoring in familiar fashion. After receiving a pass from 2019 graduate Hunter Foley, Adams launched a shot from the left side of the penalty box into the top of the net to put the Alumni in front 1-0 just over five minutes into the contest.
The Leopards wasted no time in answering to knot the game. A precise through pass by Cale Lindner found Maddox Mayle at the edge of the box. Mayle took one touch before slipping a shot into the left side of the net past the outstretched arms of the Alumni goalkeeper.
Dillen and Kibler Add Goals for Alumni
The Alumni held the current Leopards scoreless the rest of the way while adding two more goals of their own. The first came when Drew Dillen made the play of the game by intercepting a pass in the back third before launching a shot seconds later into the net from 24 yards out. The goal would prove to be the deciding score with 11:04 left in the first half.
The Alumni weren’t finished, though. 2018 graduate Bailey Adams found 2024 graduate Ryan Kibler for an insurance goal to make it 3-1 with 37:21 to play in the game.
Alumni Win Third Straight Against LHS
Neither team scored the rest of the way as the Louisville Alumni won their third straight matchup with the current LHS squad. The Alumni defeated LHS 6-2 for their largest margin of victory in the annual game back in 2024 and then edged LHS in penalty kicks in 2025. Louisville last defeated the Alumni 5-3 in 2023.
Louisville won five of the first seven contests against the Alumni and still leads the all-time series 7-5-1.
