Three Leopards Score 20+

Jenny Can Cleaning AdThree Louisville players finished with over 20 points in the contest led by junior Taryn Miglich who finished with a game-high 24. Senior Kelsey Adelman also poured in 21 and sophomore Brooke Haren finished with an even 20 for the Lady Leopards. This is the first time in known team history that Louisville has had three players score 20 or more points in a single game.

Leopards Score Record 27 Points in 2Q

The two teams found themselves in a seesaw affair at the onset before battling to a 13-13 tie. Then the Leopards took control of the game with a 9-2 run to end the first quarter and never looked back.

Louisville extended its advantage with a 27-point second quarter to roll into the half with a 49-28 lead. The 27 points scored is likely a team record for the most points ever scored in the second quarter of any game. The feat falls 8 points shy of the team record for most points scored in any quarter, 35, which was set against Youngstown Chaney last year.

Miglich Makes 4 Three-Pointers in 2nd

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThe Lady Leopards exploded with 5 three-pointers in the second quarter. Junior Hailey Gonzalez hit one of the three-pointers and Miglich cashed in on 4 three-pointers, a second quarter team record.

Miglich fell just short of tying the team mark for most three-pointers made in a single quarter. Paige Cole hit 5 shots from beyond the arch in the opening quarter at Youngstown Chaney last season. Miglich would finish scoring 14 of her 24 points in the second quarter and Adelman ended the opening half with 17 points as LHS took a commanding 21-point lead into the locker room.

Haren Leads All Scorers in 2nd Half

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdLouisville slowed the game down in the third quarter, controlled the ball, and maintained their advantage. The Hilltoppers would outscore the Leopards 15-10 in the third quarter, but Louisville would double up Chardon in the final stanza 18-9 to finish off their convincing victory.

Haren led all scorers in the second half tallying 13 of her 20 points in that segment of Saturday’s action. She was 8 of 10 (80%) from the free throw line as LHS finished 14 for 17 (82%) from the foul line for the game. In comparison, CHS made just 2 of 7 (29%) attempts from the charity stride in the game.

This is the second all-time meeting between the two schools in girls basketball. The Hilltoppers defeated the Leopards 62-55 in their previous engagement a season ago.
