Louisville Ends Season With Tough Loss at Strongsville, Finish 6-2-1 – Freshman Football
Strongsville 33, Louisville 22
The Louisville Leopards Freshman Football Team dropped their season finale against the host Strongsville Mustangs 33-22 Thursday Evening at Pat Catan Stadium. With the loss, Louisville finishes the season with a final record of 6-2-1.
Quarterback Tyler Jackson threw 3 touchdown passes and a pair of conversion throws to lead the Leopards offense. Jackson connected with Andy Larson for 2 of those touchdowns. The first came from 72 yards away in the opening quarter. The second came on 4th Down via a 23 yard touchdown pass on the final play of the first half. That cut the Louisville deficit to 20-14 at the break.
Neither team scored in the third quarter before the Mustangs extended their advantage to 26-14 with 6:08 left in the fourth quarter. The Leopards answered back when Jackson found Daniel Kennedy for a 27 yard touchdown pass. Jackson then roped a pass to Larson in the left side of the endzone for the two-point conversion to get LHS within 26-22 with 4:34 to play.
However, a backbreaking 67 yard touchdown run by Strongsville on their next drive put the Mustangs back up 33-22. Louisville drove into the redzone on their final drive, but could not find the endzone.
Kennedy led the Leopards defense with a sack, interception, tackle for a loss, and a big tackle to halt a Strongsville fourth down attempt. JD Spitaleri also recorded an interception and Larson blocked an extra point for Louisville.
