Louisville & Canfield Each Score a Pair of TD’s in 1st Scrimmage

Louisville 2, Canfield 2

The Louisville Leopards and Canfield Cardinals football squads helped quench part of fans thirst for football Thursday morning at Louisville Leopards Stadium.  The two varsity squads played to a 2-2 tie in the first scrimmage of the season.

The Leopards took a 1-0 advantage when Trey Hayford ran in a touchdown from a few yards out on their second “game-like” possession.  The Leopards defense shutout Canfield on all three “game-like” possessions to lead 1-0 heading into redzone possessions.

In redzone possessions Canfield scored both on the ground and threw the air in their first two possessions.  On Louisville’s second redzone possession Joey Duckworth scored on a quarterback draw to tie the scrimmage at 2-2, which would turn out to be the final score.

The Leopards will play at Orrvile on Friday, August 19 at 7:00 PM in their second and final scrimmage before taking on Walsh Jesuit at home Friday, August 26 to open the season.
