Lady Leopards Post 1st Ever Shutout Against GlenOak in Record Breaking Opener – Girls Lacrosse

The Louisville Leopards Girls Lacrosse Team earned their first shutout in team history in upending the visiting GlenOak Golden Eagles 19-0 Friday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. The 19 points is also the largest margin of victory in team history.
Kloe Mercorelli finished with a hat trick and tallied a game-high 5 assists to lead the Lady Leopards. Katie Hollifield also recorded a hat trick and Mandy Wesely registered 2 goals and 4 assists.
Louisville amassed a 12-0 lead by halftime and tacked on 7 more goals in the second half. Overall 10 different Leopards scored during the contest with 5 scoring multiple times. Haley Black, Maddie Kirby, and Marissa Vick all scored 2 goals each. Others finding the net included Maddie Bates, Cameron English, and Amanda Vesely.
Vick also had a team leading 3 ground balls and Lia Meckel had all 4 of Louisvilleās saves in goal. Kayle Brown and Lily Jones also spent time at goalie as part of the combined Leopards shutout.
Louisville is now 22-1 in the regular season and 3-0 in season openers all-time. Their only regular season loss came to GlenOak in an 11-10 defeat back in 2016. However, the Lady Leopards now lead the all-time series over the Golden Eagles 4-1 which includes a 3-1 mark at home in the series.
