Volleyball Earns Bye, Will Play Lake-McKinley Winner October 17

Uniontown Lake District Volleyball Tournament 2012 DII Bracket

The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Volleyball team drew the third seed in the DI Uniontown District Volleyball Tournament Draw at Lake High School Sunday Afternoon. They earned a bye for the first round and will play the winner of Lake Vs. Canton McKinley in the Sectional Championship on Wednesday, October 17 at 7:45 PM at Lake High School.

The Lady Leps won against the Lake Blue Streaks on the road earlier this season 25-15, 25-18, 25-23 back on September 1. Louisville is 8-5 against the Blue Streaks since 2000 and have posted a 4-3 record against them when playing at Lake. According to our known records, the Leps have never played Canton McKinley in a volleyball match. Louisville is also 3-1 in games at Lake High School this season as they also went 2-1 at the ASICS Tournament on September 15.

If the Lady Leopards win their first game they will play either Hoover, Perry, or Green. Louisville lost to North Canton to open the season 13-25, 19-25, 22-5 on August 25. The favorite on the other side of the bracket is the Jackson Polar Bears. Jackson is the number one overall seed in the tournament and defeated Louisville 25-15, 25-12 in the Jackson Invitational Tournament Championship back on September 22.

The Lady Leopards are currently 16-4 on the season with 2 crucial conference games left to play. They will host Carrollton for Senior Night Tuesday and then travel to Minerva for what will amount to being the NBC Championship on Thursday.
