#4 Girls Swimming Finishes Undefeated
The Louisville Lady Leopards Girls Swim Team finished with a perfect regular season for just the second time in school history (They finished 13-0 in 2011-12) this past season. Louisville finished off their perfect 10-0 run on January 30 with an 88-82 Senior Night Win over Lake.
In the win over Lake, Allison Richmond also broke a 26-year-old school record with a time of 1:02.14 in the 100 Freestyle. Richmond was also instrumental in leading the Lady Leopards to a first place finish in the NBC Meet a week before. She won two individual events and was part of two first place relay teams.
Amy Yu also took first place in two individual events and was part of the winning 200 Medley Relay team as well. Louisville has now won the NBC Meet in all three seasons since the inception of the Meet in 2013.
Louisville’s closest and perhaps biggest win of the year came on January 10 at Canton McKinley. The Lady Leopards squeaked by the host Lady Bulldogs 87-83 to stay unbeaten halfway through their schedule. Louisville has now defeated Canton McKinley in 3 out of their last 4 meetings, which is pretty amazing considering the Bulldogs held a winning streak in the series for well over a decade before that.
