North Canton got on the board first with a pair of runs in the opening frame. Both runs came via sophomore third baseman Sadie Carroll’s one out, two-run single that brought home sophomore shortstop Tess Bucher and senior center fielder Faith Reicosky.
The Leopards matched the Vikings in the bottom half of the first inning. Sophomore third baseman Kenzi Denzer led off the Louisville first with a double. Then sophomore shortstop Matti Benson followed with a two-run home run to right field.
The homer was Benson’s team leading fifth of the season, all of which have come in the last seven games.

Hoover retook the lead in the second inning when junior designated hitter Anna Jones cleared the fences with a solo shot to left field.
The Lady Vikings added on to their lead with two more runs in the third inning. Freshman left fielder Sydnee Koosh singled home senior catcher Faith Kiko for the first run. Then senior first baseman Lynae Foster drove in Carroll to put North Canton in front 5-2.
The Lady Leopards didn’t scored in the third, but mounted a rally in the fourth inning. Junior second baseman Shelby Mayle reached base on an error and freshman left fielder Matti Adams followed with a single. Two batters later, Denzer smacked a game-tying three-run home run to center field to knot the game at 5-5. The homer was Denzer’s fourth of the season.
Collins and Brendle Go Back-to-Back
