Leopards Down Quakers to Advance to District Final Vs. Jackson – Volleyball
#17 Louisville 25-22-25-25, #21 New Philadelphia 22-25-14-14
The #17 seed Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team downed the visiting #21 seed New Philadelphia Quakers 25-22, 22-25, 25-14, 25-14 in the DI Northeast 2 District Semifinals Tuesday Evening at Louisville High School. With their 10th straight victory, the Lady Leopards improve to 16-8 on the season and advance to play at the undefeated top seeded Jackson Polar Bears in the DI Northeast 2 District Championship match on Saturday, October 31 at 1:00 PM.
Senior Paige Cole finished with an LHS tournament record 29 kills to go along with 13 digs on defense to lead the Lady Leopards. Senior Lauren Siegfried also recorded a team-leading 30 assists and senior Amanda Clark was Louisville’s top server with 12 points and 2 aces.

LHS is now 15-13 since moving up to Division I in 2007. This is the eighth time the Lady Leopards have advanced to a district title game and their first appearance in a district championship since 2016.
Louisville fell to Jackson to finish as the DI District Runner-Up in both 2015 and 2016. The Lady Leopards have not won a district championship since 2005 when they were still in Division II. Their last big school division district title was also their first in 1987 when they won the Division AAA Salem District Championship over Canton South 15-7, 15-13.
The Lady Leopards will have a chance to make history Saturday at Jackson.
