Louisville Wins Sectional Title in Thriller at GlenOak – Volleyball
#17 Louisville 25-22-26-17-15, #16 GlenOak 18-25-24-25-12
The #17 Seed Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team won a five set thriller against the host #16 seed GlenOak Golden Eagles 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 17-25, 15-12 Saturday in the DI Northeast 2 Sectional Finals.
The Lady Leopards were led on offense by seniors Paige Cole and Lauren Siegfriend. Cole finished with a team-high 29 kills and Siegfried recorded 13 kills. Siegfried also amassed a team-high 35 assists.
Louisville was led on defense by senior Sydney Bast who finished with a team leading 31 digs. The Leopards front row also put a backstop up all match long. Junior Kendal Loy finished with a team-high 5 blocks. Cole and sophomore Lexi Jobe also finished with 4 blocks each.
Junior Bridget DeJacimo finished as Louisville’s leading server with 12 service points. Loy also tallied 2 aces.
The victory is the Lady Leopards first over GlenOak since they rallied from a two set deficit to defeat the Golden Eagles 26-28, 17-25, 25-19, 25-18, 15-3 in the 2011 DI Uniontown Sectional Finals held at Lake High School.

This is Louisville’s first sectional title since 2016, which is also the last year they advanced to the district championship game. The Lady Leopards are now 14-13 in the postseason since moving into Division I in 2007.
