Louisville Scores Most Goals on the Road Since 2010, Upends Massillon 12-2 – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team upended the host Massillon Tigers 12-2 Thursday Night. With the victory, Louisville improves to 10-4 on the season.

Burton Records Hat Trick to Lead Leopards
Freshman Carter Burton finished with a hat trick and also recorded two assists to lead the Leopards. Junior Drew Dillen, junior Ethan Diller, and sophomore Nick Johnston also scored a pair of goals each for Louisville.
Seven different Leopards found the back of the net on the night. Other goal scorers included junior Brady Adams, sophomore Damien Lowder, and junior Jacob Sanders.
Nine of Louisville’s 12 goals were assisted. Recording an assist each for the Leopards were Adams, senior Ian Darrow, Dillen, Diller, Lowder, junior Angelo Paquelet, and sophomore Dominic Porter-Kovacich.
Third Most Goals in a Road Game
Louisville led 6-2 at halftime before outscoring Massillon 6-0 in the second half. The twelve goals scored by LHS is the third most on the road in team history. The 2010 Leopards won at Akron Ellet 14-1 and later won at Northwest 15-1 to set the all-time high road mark.
Thursday marked the fifth time in team history that Louisville scored 10 or more goals in a road game. The last time the Leopards reached double digits on the road came in the 2016 season when they shutout host Massillon 10-0.

Louisville Wins 9th Straight Over Massillon
The Leopards have now defeated the Tigers in each of the past nine seasons and have won 21 of their last 22 meetings against Massillon overall. The lone outcome that wasn’t a Louisville victory was a 1-1 tie at Massillon in 2014.
The Leopards now lead the all-time series 21-1-2, which includes an 11-0-1 record when playing on the road in the series.
