The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team swept the visiting East Canton Hornets in three sets 25-12, 25-14, 25-21 in their annual “Play for a Cure” match Monday Evening at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville snaps their three match skid and improves to 5-7 on the year.

Louisville Earns 1st Home Sweep of the Season

Re-Elect Corey Street Louisville City Council AdSenior captain and outside hitter Kelsey Adelman recorded a team high 10 kills and matched senior defensive specialist Bridget DeJacimo with a team best 4 aces to lead the Lady Leopards. Junior defensive specialist Kait Kardohely finished as Louisville’s leading server with 9 service points as well.

Sophomore setter AJ Burick recorded a team best 26 assists to set up the offense. Senior defensive specialist/libero Emma Davis again led the Lady Leopards defensive efforts with a team high 6 digs.

Of known records, this is the first time Louisville has scheduled East Canton in volleyball since the 1980 season. This is the Leopards first home sweep of the season and second sweep of the 2021 campaign overall. Louisville also swept Barberton on the road 25-19, 25-19, 25-16 on September 8.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the Massillon Tigers on Tuesday, September 21. JV is slated to begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 6:15 PM from Washington High School.
