Riley Scores Leads Leps with 2 First Half Goals

Jenny Can Cleaning AdFreshman Reese Riley scored a pair of first half goals and added an assist to lead the Lady Leopards. Riley started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the sixth minute and added another score in the 19th minute to put LHS ahead 5-0.


Louisville Scores 3 Goals in 2:16

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieFive different Louisville players found the back of the net in the opening half as the Leopards built a 6-0 halftime advantage. Junior Payton Allan scored the game’s second goal off an assist from senior Ava Heckman toward the end of the 13th minute.

Not long after, Louisville scored three goals in a span of 2:16. Senior Mazzy Miller scored with 23:43 remaining in the first half with Riley recording the assist on the play. Senior Natalie Lab followed with a goal in the 18th minute off an assist from junior Regan Biery. Riley then added her second goal at the 21:27 mark of the opening half off a pass from Miller.

Sophomore Sammi Beatty also scored an unassisted goal with 1:20 to play and the Lady Leopards would ride a 6-0 lead into the break. Senior Paige Folk scored the lone Louisville goal in the second half with 22:45 remaining in the contest.

Mercier and Edgein Combine for Shutout

Junior goalkeeper Audrey Mercier and freshman goalkeeper Tristyn Edgein split duties in goal for the Lady Leopards. Mercier started and played the first half before giving way to Edgein at halftime.

This is Louisville’s 7th shutout of the season. Mercier and the Leopards need one more shutout to tie the team record of 8 shutouts set in 2004, 2013, 2021, and 2022. Mercier’s predecessor Amelia Henderhan (2023 graduate) is the most recent LHS goalkeeper to record 8 shutouts in a season as she accomplished the feat in 2021 and 2022.


Louisville Wins 7th Straight Vs. Central

The Lady Leopards are now 8-1 against Canton Central Catholic all-time and they have outscored the Crusaders 34-6 in those 9 matchups. Louisville holds a 4-1 record when playing at home in the series.

The Lady Leopards have now shutout the Crusaders in each of their last 4 meetings dating back to 2020 by a combine score of 22-0. This is the fifth time Louisville has shutout Central since the series began with a 1-0 Leopard shutout in 2004.

Longest Winning Streak Since 2013

Jenny Can Cleaning AdLouisville’s 7-game winning streak is the longest since they strung together a 7-game winning streak toward the end of the 2013 season. The 2013 Lady Leopards won 8 consecutive games to begin the season that year. The 2012 Louisville team won 9 straight matches which remains the team record to this day.

The Lady Leopards will look to keep their winning streak alive when they host the 2-6-2 Kent Roosevelt Red Riders Saturday.

UP NEXT: The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team will next host the Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders on Saturday, September 27. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 7:00 PM.

Senior Night Walk-Through

Prior to the game Louisville honored its 5 Lady Leopards Soccer Seniors: Paige Folk, Natalie Lab, Mikaiah Sells, Ava Heckman, and Mazzy Miller.
