Alumni Goes Back-to-Back for First Time

With their 5-4 shootout victory following a 2-2 tie in regulation, the Alumni have now won back-to-back Alumni Games for the first time in series history. They previously claimed a 6-2 win in 2024. Despite the recent streak, Louisville still leads the all-time series 7-4-1.

The four total goals scored in this year’s match tied the 2021 contest for the fewest combined goals in Alumni Game history. That 2021 matchup also resulted in a 3-1 Alumni win.

The only other draw in series history came in 2015 when the teams battled to a 7-7 deadlock, which remains the highest-scoring Alumni Game on record. No overtime or penalty shootout was held that year. In contrast, this year’s game moved directly to penalty kicks after regulation, with no extra period played.
