Louisville Leopards Girls Basketball at Quicken Loans Arena 2017

St. Joseph Academy 47, Louisville 39

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell to the St. Joseph Academy Jaguars 47-39 beattys-sports-winter-hat-2017Friday Afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. With the loss, Louisville falls to 11-5 on the season.

Sarah Lairson scored a game-high 14 points and also pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds to lead the Lady Leopards. Both Abby Beaver and Alexa Oberster each added 10 points for Louisville as well.

The very large backdrop at the Q did not help either team’s shooting performance. Louisville shot just 29% (13 of 44) and St. Joseph Academy made only 31% (15 of 47) of their shots from the field. This slight difference allowed the Jaguars to claw their way to victory, as most of the other statistical categories remained even.

After the game, the Lady Leopards stayed court side to watch the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers warm-up. They then got to witness the Cavs defeat the visiting Brooklyn Nets 124-116.

UP NEXT: It will be a quick turn around for the Lady Leopards as they travel to Marlington to take on the Dukes in a key NBC matchup on Saturday, January 28. Start times have changed with JV beginning at 6:00 PM and Varsity following around 7:30 PM.
