Louisville Makes Quick Work of Warren G. Harding in Home Sweep – Volleyball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team returned to the win column with a dominant straight-set victory over the visiting Warren G. Harding Raiders Thursday evening at Louisville High School.
Louisville rolled to victories of 25-10, 25-8, and 25-14 to complete the sweep and improve to 9-4 overall and 2-3 in league play. The JV Lady Leopards also swept Harding to improve to 10-3.
The victories capped another busy two-day stretch for the Louisville volleyball program that also featured a freshman tri-match against Canfield and Boardman and middle school matches against Lake White.

Rukavina Leads Balanced Louisville Effort
Kloey Rukavina led Louisville with 8 kills while also contributing 6 digs and 4 aces.
Aubrey Johnston turned in a strong all-around performance with 12 service points, 5 aces, and 11 digs.
Setter Bailey Cole distributed 17 assists and also served 5 aces as the Lady Leopards controlled the match from the service line.
Leopards Roll Past Raiders in Three Sets
Louisville controlled Thursday’s varsity match from the outset.
The Lady Leopards surrendered only 10 points in a commanding 25-10 opening-set victory before turning in an even more dominant second frame, defeating Harding 25-8.
Louisville completed the sweep with a 25-14 victory in the third set, limiting the Raiders to just 32 total points over the entire match.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards Volleyball Team will next host the GlenOak Golden Eagles on Saturday, September 26 in their annual Play for a Cure match. Freshman will begin at 9:00 AM, JV will follow at 10:00 AM, and Varsity will follow around 11:30 AM.
JV: Louisville 25-25, Warren G. Harding 15-8
The Louisville JV Volleyball Team also swept Warren G. Harding, winning 25-15, 25-8.
Lilly Seaman finished with 3 kills and 5 digs, while Makayla Tanner added 3 kills. Izzy Manko led Louisville from the service line with 5 aces.
The JV Lady Leopards improved to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Freshman Leopards Sweep Canfield, Boardman in Tri-Match
The Louisville freshman volleyball team enjoyed a perfect night Wednesday, rallying from first-set losses to defeat both Canfield and Boardman in a home tri-match at Louisville High School.
Louisville 23-25-25, Canfield 25-15-18
Against Canfield, Louisville dropped the opening set 25-23 before responding with victories of 25-15 and 25-18 to take the match in three sets.
Marlo Brickwood led the attack with 10 kills and added 2 aces. Eiley Swope recorded 9 kills and 13 digs, while Zayleigh Berdella distributed 20 assists and finished with 11 service points.
Louisville 17-25-25, Boardman 25-16-16
The Lady Leopards followed nearly the same script against Boardman. Louisville fell 25-17 in the first set before answering with back-to-back 25-16 victories to complete another comeback.
Jordan Hardy anchored the defense with 20 digs, while Reina LaScola contributed 4 kills, 15 digs, and 3 aces.
The two victories improved the freshman Leopards to 6-1 overall and 3-0 against AAC foes.
LMS Teams Battle Lake White
8th Grade: Lake White 25-21-25, Louisville 23-25-20
The Louisville eighth grade volleyball team battled Lake White through three close sets Wednesday before falling 23-25, 25-21, 20-25.
After narrowly dropping the opener, Louisville responded with a 25-21 victory to force a deciding third set. Lake ultimately prevailed 25-20.
Quinn Bresson led Louisville with 4 aces, while Emme Christensen recorded a team-high 3 kills.
The eighth grade Leopards moved to 12-5 on the season.
7th Grade: Lake White 25-21-25, Louisville 23-25-20
The Louisville seventh grade squad also pushed Lake White to three sets before falling by the same 23-25, 25-21, 20-25 final.
Maddie Claugus and Kamry Rukavina led Louisville from the service line with 3 aces apiece, while Morgan Samblanet recorded a team-high 3 kills.
The seventh grade Leopards are now 12-5 on the season.
