Undefeated Polar Bears Put Freeze on Lady Leps Season

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL DISTRICT SEMIFINALS

Jackson 25-25-25, Louisville 15-11-9

The state ranked 25-0 Jackson Polar Bears were just too much to handle for the Louisville Lady Leopards Thursday night at Lake High School.  The Lady Leps fell to Jackson 15-25, 11-25, 9-25 to end their season in the District Semifinals.

The Polar Bears Paige Hill was just unstoppable in the front row for Jackson.  The 6-foot-1 Junior finished the night with 12 kills and 3 blocks.  Anything the Lady Leps smacked over seemed to hit a wall and bounce right back.  Even when it looked like Jackson was about to lose a point defensively, they would made several diving saves and returned the ball ferociously over the net to gain the point.

Offensively for the Lady Leps, Maddie Gramoy had 17 assists, Molly Brown was the lead server with 4 points and 1 ace, and Jordan Monnot finished with 6 kills.  Defensively, Monnot also had 3 blocks while Danielle Baker had 8 digs.

The Lady Leopards finish the season 15-9, but have nothing to be ashamed of after losing to a team that finished third in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association Division I poll.  Jackson will play Lake in the District Finals.
