Louisville Leopards Vs. Lakota East Thunderhawks 2019 DI Softball State Championship Video Highlights
Louisville defeated Lakota East 14-10 in 10 innings to earn the first girls team State Title in school history! The Leopards rallied from a 7-2 hole, overcame 6 errors in the field, and homered 4 times as they finish the season 27-4.
Sarah Cantley threw a 4-hit shutout and notched her 500th strikeout during the Leopards 14-0 shutout of the Golden Eagles. Kaylee Nolte also went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs as Louisville improved to 15-3 on the year.
Teagan Rice batted 4-for-5 and hit a Grand Slam as part of an 11-run fifth inning for the Leopards who earned an 18-2 road victory over the Bears. Lauren Bennett, Alex Fankhauser, and Shae Thomas also homered for Louisville.
Kaylee Nolte hit an RBI double as part of a 3-run sixth, but the Louisville could not complete their comeback against visiting Lake in a 5-3 loss.
Sarah Cantley threw her second straight no-hitter and tied her own team record with 14 strikeouts for a 5-inning game as the Leopards run-ruled the Wildcats 10-0. Cantley and Teagan Rice also homered and Kaycee Ollis went 4-for-4 with 3 doubles as LHS improved to 20-1.
Sarah Cantley pitched a complete game 5-hit shutout and struck out 10 as the Leopards beat the previously unbeaten Warriors 3-0. Alex Fankhauser delivered the go-ahead 2-run single and Justina Sirohman also drove in a run during the sixth as LHS improved to 16-1.
Shae Thomas held Lake in check in the circle with 5 strikeouts and Sarah Cantley closed the game out for the win as Louisville rallied for a 2-1 victory. Teagan Rice also doubled and scored a run for the 14-1 Leopards.
Kaycee Ollis hit a 2-run homer and Ashley Zifer smacked a 3-run homer as Louisville run-ruled host Marlington 12-1 in 6 innings. Lauren Bennett also hit a 2-run triple and Sarah Cantley had 3 hits and earned the win in the circle.
Teagan Rice drove in 4 runs and hit a walk-off double to lead Louisville in a 10-0 5 inning win against Salem. Kaycee Ollis also hit a solo homer and Sarah Cantley faced the minimum and struck out 11 during her 1-hit shutout in the circle.
