Cantley Records 500th Strikeout as Leopards Rout GlenOak 14-0 – Softball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team shutout the host GlenOak Golden Eagles 14-0 in a five inning run-rule victory Wednesday Evening at GlenOak High School. With the win, Louisville ups their record to 14-3 on the season.
Sarah Cantley pitched a 4-hit shutout and struck out 6 to earn the victory for the Lady Leopards. She retired the side in the opening inning and notched her 500th career strikeout in the process. Cantley also struck out 4 of the final 6 Golden Eagles batters she faced to secure her fourth shutout of the season.
Kaylee Nolte led Louisville by batting 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Alex Fankhauser, Lexi Zavarelle, and Ashley Zifer all registered a pair of RBIs for the Leopards as well.
All 15 of Louisville’s hits were singles as they pounded out all 14 runs through the first four innings of play. Fankhauser, Sydney McKeever, Kayce Ollis, and Zavarelle finished with two hits each. Eight different Leopards drove in runs during the contest. Lauren Bennett, McKeeveer, Ollis, and Justina Sirohman all tallied an RBI each.
With the victory, Louisville finishes the regular season with a record of 5-2 against Federal League foes. The Lady Leopards have now won 5 straight over the Golden Eagles overall including their last 3 at GlenOak. Louisville still trails the all-time series 17-21, which includes a 7-10 record in games played at GHS.
UP NEXT: The Louisville Leopards Softball Team will next host the Austintown Fitch Falcons on Thursday, April 25 at 5:00 PM. Senior Night will take place prior to the game.
