Lady Leopards Maul Minerva 11-0 – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Soccer Team upended the visiting Minerva Lions 11-0 Saturday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With their third straight victory, Louisville improves to 6-2 on the season.

Allan Scores Twice in Span of 10 Minutes

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdJunior Payton Allan broke the deadlock by scoring twice for the Leopards in a 10 minute span. Allan got Louisville on the board with a shot into the left side of the net in the 13th minute.

Senior Natalie Lab then made it 2-0 LHS less than two minutes later when she scored off a free kick from senior Paige Folk. The goal was Lab’s team leading fifth of the season and the assist was Folk’s team best third for the year.

The Lady Leopards took firm control of the game when Allan added her second score to make it 3-0 with 17:58 to play before halftime. Allan ran a give and go with junior Reise Klein and then beat the Lion goalkeeper who made a diving save attempt on the left side of the net.


Beatty and Miller Tack on Two Goals Each

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdLouisville continued to pour it on in taking a 6-0 halftime lead and adding 5 additional goals in the second half. 

Senior Mazzy Miller, sophomore Sammi Beatty, and junior Reagan Biery each scored unassisted goals in a span of only 3:13. That put the Lady Leopards ahead 6-0 and they would ride that advantage into the break.

Louisville wasted no time in adding to their total just 1:21 into the second half. Beatty took a deep shot from the far left side that deflected off the hands of the goalkeeper and was tapped home by Miller for her second goal of the game.

Beatty then tacked on her second goal of the game in the 48th minute. She received a perfect cross pass from junior  Alissa Lingenhoel and one-timed the ball into the back of the net to make it 8-0. The goal was Beatty’s fourth of the season.


Three Leopards Record 1st Goals of the Year

Jenny Can Cleaning AdThe Lady Leopards added on three more goals in a 6:49 sequence late in the second half. Senior Ava Heckman got on the board in the 65th minute via an assist from sophomore Alyssa Schillig. Lilli Lab followed with a score in the 69th minute to put Louisville in double digits. Finally, sophomore Alivia Youngen found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore Violet Lab to up to Leopard lead to 11-0 with 8:24 to go.


LHS Reaches Double Digits for 10th Time

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieThis is the 10th time in team history that Louisville Girls Soccer has scored 10 or more goals in a game. The 11-0 shutout Saturday is tied for their fourth largest shutout in team history and tied for the second largest home shutout in program history. The Lady Leopards blanked visiting Coventry 16-0 last season, which marked the largest margin of victory in team history.

Leopards Undefeated Vs. Lions in Last 9 Meetings

The Lady Leopards have now won four straight games against the Lady Lions dating back to 2016 when both teams were still in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference. Louisville has not lost to Minerva in their last 10 meetings going 7-0-2 against them since 2010.

The Lady Leopards lead the all-time series 11-1-4, which includes a 7-1-1 record when playing at Louisville in the series. This is the sixth time that the Lady Leopards have shutout the Lady Lions all-time.
