The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team mauled the visiting Marlington Dukes 91-51 Tuesday Night at Louisville High School. With the win, Louisville improves to 13-3 on the season.

Aljancic Pours in Game High 27 for LHS
Senior wing Will Aljancic scored 15 of his game high 27 points in the second half to lead the Leopards to their convincing victory. Aljancic also cashed in on a 3 three-pointers during the onslaught as he scored over 25 points in Louisville’s third consecutive home game in a span of just five days.
Four different Leopard players finished in double figures as Louisville tallied 37 field goals for the game. Sophomore forward Brayden Gross scored 11 points in the second quarter and registered all 19 of his points through the first three periods of action. Junior guard Hayden Nigro also tacked on 12. Sophomore point guard Beau Siegfried laced the nets with 3 three-pointers en rout to finishing with 11.
The Leopards scored the first 5 points of the contest and never trailed throughout. They built an 18-12 lead at the end of the first and continued to build their advantage throughout. Louisville erupted for 28 points in the second quarter to take a 46-24 halftime advantage. The Leopards led 70-42 at the end of three before outscoring the Dukes 21-9 in the final period to earn the 40-point victory.
Himmelheber Leads Marlington with 16
Junior Beau Himmelheber scored 12 of his team high 16 points in the second half to lead Marlington. Senior Caden Bates also made 3 three-pointers and finished with 11 for the Dukes. Other top scorers for MHS included senior Casey Miller with 8 and sophomore Dylan Heatherington with 7.
Leopards Vs. Dukes Head-to-Head Series
The Leopards have now defeated the Dukes in 7 of their last 8 meetings dating back to 2017, which includes their last 4 meetings in the series played at Louisville. The Leopards lead the all-time series 73-40, which includes a 39-17 record when playing at home in the series.
The 40-point margin of victory matches the most lopsided final score in the basketball rivalry. In the opposite extreme, Marlington won at Louisville 79-39 on December 8, 1978. This is the fourth time in the history of the series that the Leopards have scored over 90 points against the Dukes.
