The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team trounced the visiting Akron Ellet Orangemen 86-55 Saturday Night at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 12-3 on the season.

Aljancic Scores Game High 26 for Louisville

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdSenior wing Will Aljancic made 4 three-pointers, threw down multiple dunks, and scored a game high 26 points to lead the Leopards. Aljancic scored 8 in the second quarter and put up 10 in the third quarter to help Louisville build a commanding advantage.

Three other Leopards also finished in double figures. Junior guard Hayden Nigro made a pair of three-pointers and tallied 14. Sophomore forward Brayden Gross also added 13. Sophomore point guard Beau Siegfried rounded out the top Louisville scorers by cashing in on 3 three-pointers and scoring 11 points.

Merring Leads Ellet with 15

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdSenior shooting guard Chase Merring made 3 three-pointers and scored a team high 15 points to lead the Orangemen. Freshman power forward Brandon Knowles also tacked on 8 and senior point guard Trevor Ingham added 7.

Louisville held a slim 17-16 edge at the end of the first quarter. The Leopards would pull away after that in outscoring Ellet 52-24 over the next two quarters. LHS amassed a double digit 42-29 lead at the half and continued to build their led to 69-40 by the end of the third quarter.

Jenny Can Cleaning AdLouisville would outscore the Orangemen 17-15 in the final period to solidify their 12th victory in 13 games.

This was the first known meeting between the two schools in boys varsity basketball.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Marlington Dukes on Tuesday, January 24. JV will begin at 5:30 PM with Varsity following around 7:00 PM from Louisville High School.
