The #18 seed Louisville Leopards shutout the #4 seed Medina Buckeyes 7-0 in the DIII Northeast 5 District Championship Friday evening at LaBrae High School. With their fourth straight victory, Louisville clinches a winning season improving to 15-13 and advances to regionals for the second straight season.
The Lady Leopards will next take on the #12 seed Holy Name Green Wave in the DIII Region 9 Regional Semifinals on Wednesday, May 27. Game time is slated for 2:00 PM from Akron Firestone Stadium.

Kaitlin Twinem drove in four runs on one hit to lead Louisville Varsity Leopards past Buckeye Varsity Bucks 2026 7-0 on Friday at LaBrae High School. In the seventh inning, Twinem hit a grand slam to left field.
Katelynn Miller didn’t allow a run. Though Buckeye Varsity Bucks 2026 did collect one hit.
A double by Anna Sirohman put Louisville Varsity Leopards on the board in the top of the first.
Louisville Varsity Leopards added one run in the third. Addy Campbell singled down the left field line, making the score 2-0.
Louisville Varsity Leopards scored five runs on two hits in the top of the seventh inning. Miller singled, scoring one run, and Twinem hit a grand slam to left field.
Lilly Young opened the game for Buckeye Varsity Bucks 2026. The starting pitcher surrendered 10 hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking four.
Louisville Varsity Leopards accumulated 10 hits in the game. Leah Claugus led Louisville Varsity Leopards with three hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Campbell collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards in four at bats.
Cassy Minarchick led Buckeye Varsity Bucks 2026 with one hit in two at bats. Buckeye Varsity Bucks 2026 turned one double play in the game. Buckeye Varsity Bucks 2026 didn’t commit a single error in the field. Eleanor Shaw had the most chances in the field with nine.
