Lab Scores Twice to Lead Louisville

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLouisville wasted no time in taking the lead in the opening minute. Junior Lola Lucas popped a pass from the right sideline into the penalty box. The ball took a big hop in the box and was headed by senior Natalie Lab in the midst of two defenders. The ball went past the diving goalkeeper and into the left side of the net just 28 seconds in to the contest.

Lab took control of a pass from junior Reagan Biery just outside the penalty box. She then faked a West Branch defender to the right and blasted a shot into the left side of the net with her left foot. That put The Lady Leopards ahead 2-0 with 29:36 left in the second half.

Leopards Down Previously Unbeaten Warriors

Jenny Can Cleaning AdThe Lady Warriors broke the shutout in the 68th minute. Senior Sophia Gregory headed home the West Branch goal directly off a corner kick from fellow senior Chloe Dennison.

Louisville’s defense would hold the Warriors scoreless the rest of the way to secure the 2-1 victory and hand West Branch its first loss of the season. The loss also snaps the Lady Warriors 4-game winning streak, a span in which they recorded 3 shutouts and outscored the opposition 31-1.

Warrior senior goalkeeper Zoe Sanders finished with 5 saves and freshman Audrey Eaton also recorded a save for the green and white. West Branch is now 7-1-2 on the season.

Louisville’s 1st Win Over West Branch Since 2013

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieMonday’s win was the Lady Leopards first victory at West Branch since defeating the Warriors 5-1 on October 14, 2006. Louisville had lost 4 of their last 5 matches played in Beliot since that victory, with a 2-2 tie being the only non-losing result in 2016.

The Lady Leopards are now 3-11-2 all-time against the Lady Warriors, which includes a 2-5-1 record when playing at West Branch in the series. This is Louisville’s first win over the Lady Warriors since their only home victory in the series, a 4-0 win at Louisville Leopards Stadium on September 11, 2013.
