Louisville Edged by West Branch in Battle of NBC Undefeated – Girls Soccer

Grove Appliance Alliance Ohio AdThe Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team fell to the visiting West Branch Warriors 2-1 Wednesday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the loss, Louisville falls to an even 4-4-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Maddie Berkebile scored the Leopards only goal with 2:23 remaining in the game to chop the Warriors lead in half at 2-1. Kayla Gibson broke free down the left side of the field and delivered a beautiful cross pass into the box. Berkebile flushed it home to keep the hopes of the blue and white alive.

The Warriors took the early lead when Bri Bleyins scored with 28:06 left in the first half. Neither team scored again until West Branch’s Gillian Koneval netted a much needed insurance goal with just 8:40 left in the contest. The Lady Warriors improve to 8-5 overall and 5-0 in the NBC.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Massillon to take on the Tigers on Saturday, September 23. Match is set to begin at 1:30 PM from Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.
