Friday Night Futbol Resumed
Wednesday’s game was a resumed match that was postponed this past Friday, August 13 as part of the “Friday Night Futbol” OSHAA initiative to spotlight soccer’s opening night. The two squads played for just under twelve minutes last Friday before the game was delayed due to lightning with 28:10 left in the opening half.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net either day. Stow finished holding a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
This was the first ever meeting between Louisville and Stow-Munroe Falls in girls soccer.
Third Straight Opening Night Tie for LHS
The Lady Leopards have now tied their opponent on opening night in 4 of their past 5 seasons, including the last 3 openers overall. Louisville knotted Fairless 1-1 to open up each of the past two seasons and also recorded a draw with Lake 2-2 to start the 2017 campaign. The Lady Leopards are now 10-4-5 in season openers all-time since their inception in 2003.
