The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell on the road to the Division II, #5 ranked Canfield Cardinals 51-36 Monday Night at Canfield High School. With the loss, Louisville drops to 12-8 on the season.

Haren & Barwick Combine for 23 for LHS
Senior shooting guard Brooke Haren and sophomore shooting guard Courtney Barwick combined to score 23 of the Lady Leopards 36 points. Haren made a pair of three-pointers and finished with a team high 12. Barwick scored all of her 11 points in the second half.
Freshman shooting guard Taylor McCully and senior shooting guard Taryn Miglich also added 5 points each for Louisville. Junior Addi Thorne rounded out the Leopard scoring by hitting a fourth quarter three-pointer.
Sahli and Muckleroy Lead Canfield
Canfield (19-1) was led by Kate Sahli and Abby Muckleroy who combined for 30 points. Sahli scored 13 of her game high 16 points in the second half to lead the Cardinals. Muckleroy made 3 three-pointers and finished with 14 points. Camryn Hritz and Jenna Triveri also tallied 7 points each for CHS.
Canfield jumped out to a 13-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Cardinals then held the Leopards to just a single field goal in the second quarter and went into the half up 22-9. Both teams added 18 points in a high scoring third quarter. Canfield would outscored Louisville 11-9 in the final period to secure their 15-point win.

The Leopards have now fallen to the Cardinals in 7 of their last 8 meetings overall dating back to 2018. Louisville’s lone victory in that stint came in a 52-43 home win over Canfield last season.

The Girls JV game will begin at 4:00 PM with the Girls Varsity game following at 5:30 PM.
