Lake Blue Streaks at Louisville Leopards Girls Basketball 2012 Video Highlights

Baylen Dyrlund scored 16 points & grabbed 8 rebounds and McKenna Stephens poured in 13 points & brought down 11 boards to lead the Lake Lady Blue Streaks to a 52-41 over the Louisville Lady Leopards Wednesday Night. The loss snaps a 14-game home winning streak for Louisville who falls to 1-1 on the season.
The Lady Leopards were led by Jordan Monnot who had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals. Hannah Lemmon also recorded 8 points, 3 blocks, & 3 steals, while her sister Clara Lemmon also added 6 points and 6 boards.
The Leopards cut the Blue Streak lead to 21-18 early on in the second half, but Lake responded with a 12-0 run and outscored Louisville 18-9 overall in the third quarter. Lake shot 58% in the period, while making 40% (19 of 47) of their shots for the entire contest.
Louisville shot only 33% (16 of 49) for the game and also turned the ball over 31 times. The Leopards also record 23 fouls to the Blues Streaks 11, which allowed Lake to shoot 13 more free throws and scoring 8 more points from the line.
The loss is the Leopards first at home since a 45-41 loss to Minerva back on January 26, 2011. Louisville also snaps an 8-game winning streak against non-conference opponents at home dating all the way back to the home opener on November 28, 2010 when they fell to GlenOak 75-63.
Louisville is now 20-12 all-time against Lake with the Blue Streaks taking 5 out of the last 7. The Leopards will look to get back on track when they travel to Minerva Saturday to open up conference play.

JV: Lake 36, Louisville 18
Lake held Louisville to just two first half field goals as they mounted a 24-4 halftime lead. Despite the huge hole, the Lady Leopards outscored Lake 14-12 in the second half before falling 36-18 to the Blue Streaks.
Grace Jackson and Rachel Zeller led Louisville with 6 points each. Lake was led by Brandie Snow’s game-leading 10 points and Rachel Williams’ 9 points. Taylor Noble also scored 3 points for the Lady Leps who fall to 1-1.
