Leopards Go 1-2 at Jackson Invitational Defeating Southeast – Volleyball
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team competed at the Jackson Invitational Saturday at Jackson High School. The Leopards went 1-2 at the Invitational dropping their first two matches in two sets against host Jackson and Marlington before defeating Southeast in two sets in their final match. Louisville is now 2-7 on the season.
Louisville’s Paige Cole was named to the all-tournament team after their three matches.
Jackson 25-25, Louisville 14-19
The Lady Leopards faced the host Jackson Polar Bears first up and fell 14-25, 14-19.
Cami Nau led the Louisville efforts with 4 points and 1 ace serving to go along with a team-high 6 kills. Amanda Clark also finished with 9 assists for the Leopards offense.
On defense, Paige Cole finished with 7 digs and Erin Hahn registered a pair of blocks.
Marlington 25-25, Louisville 21-15
Louisville also fell in their second match against the Marlington Dukes 21-25, 15-21.
Amanda Clark was the Leopards leading server with 4 points and 2 aces and Emily Fresenko was the team’s top hitter with 7 kills. Lauren Siegfried also recorded a team leading 11 assists and also had a block.
On defense, Cami Nau had a team-high 6 digs and Paige Cole also tallied a block.
Louisville 25-25, Southeast 16-13
The Lady Leopards swept the Southeast Pirates 25-16, 25-13 to snap their 7 game skid.
Erin Hahn dominated the front court with a team-high 8 kills and team leading 5 blocks. Lauren Siegfried also setup the offense with 10 assists.
Paige Cole was the leading sever for the match with 7 points and 2 aces. Emily Phillips also had a team leading 6 digs on defense.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopard will next hit the road to take on the Perry Panthers on Tuesday, September 18. JV will start at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM.
