The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer team shutout the visiting Canton Central Catholic Crusaders Saturday Afternoon at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville improves their record to 3-5-5 on the season.

Kimble Records Hat Trick to Lead Louisville

Re-Elect Corey Street Louisville City Council AdSophomore Ava Kimble recorded a hat trick to lead the Lady Leopards. Kimble scored a pair of goals in the opening half to give Louisville a 2-0 halftime advantage. She later netted her fourth goal of the season in the second half to help LHS extend its lead to 4-0.

Freshman Payton Allan scored the Lady Leopards first second half goal, her third of the season. Freshman Audrey Mercier also recorded the only assist of the contest on Kimble’s second goal of the game.


Henderhan Records 5th Shutout

Junior goalkeeper Amelia Henderhan tallied 3 saves in earning her fifth shutout of the season for Louisville. She has now tallied 160 saves for the season, which ranks first in Division I and third in the state overall going into Saturday Evening. Henderhan continues to raise the bar on her career record with now 14 varsity shutouts.

The Lady Leopards outshot the Crusaders 13-3 and held a 3-1 edge in corner kicks for the game.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLouisville has now defeated Canton Central Catholic in each of the past four seasons and in their last five matchups overall. Louisville now leads the all-time series 6-1, which includes a 3-1 record when playing the Crusaders at home.

This was the Lady Leopards first home victory of the season. LHS is now 1-2-1 on the year when playing at Louisville Leopards Stadium.


160th Louisville Girls Soccer win

This is  the 160th victory in program history, which matches the Leopards Boys Soccer program’s win total as well. 

Head Coach John Henkel is now tied for fourth in career coaching victories with his predecessor Nic Ugrin (22-24-4 from 2016-2018) for the Louisville girls soccer program. Henkel is now 22-18-8 since taking over as the Lady Leopards head coach in 2019. Overall Henkel is 124-114-30 as a head coach at Louisville when including his 12 seasons at the helm of the boys soccer team.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards Girls Soccer Team will next travel to take on the North Royalton Bears on Monday, September 27. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 7:00 PM.
