Lady Leopards Set Team Record Low in Win Over Central – Girls Golf

The Louisville Leopards Girls Golf Team took their game to the next level in a record-breaking 148-157 victory over the visiting Canton Central Catholic Crusaders Wednesday at Pleasant View Golf Club. With the victory, Louisville keeps their undefeated record in moving to 9-0 on the season.
Erin Strouse shot a match low 2 under par 33 to lead the Lady Leopards. Katie Bice and Alexis Ralston both shot 36 and Madison Gruber carded a 43 to round out the Louisville scoring. Other LHS golfers included Abby Davis who shot 44 and Lauren L’Amoreaux who finished with 48.
The Lady Crusaders were led by Katie Bonar who shot a team low 42. Rounding out the scoring for Central were Kristen Belden 46, Caroline Harold 48, and Kaitlin Belden 51. Sarah Colucy also tallied 54 as the only other Crusader varsity golfer in the lineup.
The Lady Leopards team total of 148 is their lowest of all-time for a single match. It eclipses the previous low mark of 153 shot at Pleasant View twice last season. The Lady Leopards defeated Beaver Local 153-203 on August 27, 2019 and also downed Dover 153-223 back on September 3, 2019.
In addition, this is also the best team score an opponent has ever posted against Louisville. Central’s 157 bests the previous low 160 mark the Marlington Dukes recorded in a tri-match with the Leopards and the Salem Quakers back on August 10, 2017 (Marlington 160, Louisville 175, Salem 242) also at Pleasant View Golf Club. Consequently the 305 combined score of the Leopards and Crusaders match Wednesday is also the lowest in Louisville High School Girls Golf history.
The Lady Leopards have now won 9 straight matches over the Crusaders. They now hold an 11-3 record against Canton Central Catholic all-time, which includes a 5-1 mark at home and a 4-0 record when playing at Pleasant View Golf Club in the series.
