Lint Converts Folk Corner for Early Lead

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLouisville wasted little time breaking through.

With 36:21 remaining in the first half, Haile Folk delivered a corner kick from the right side into the middle of the penalty area. Kasey Lint met the service and redirected it into the left side of the net to give the Lady Leopards a 1-0 advantage.

That goal stood as the difference throughout the remainder of the opening half as Louisville took its one-goal cushion into the break.

Riley Penalty Kick Doubles Louisville Lead

West Main Vet Clinic AdThe Lady Leopards created some breathing room less than eight minutes into the second half.

Folk drew a foul inside the penalty area, giving Louisville an opportunity from the spot. Riley stepped forward for the penalty kick and buried her shot into the right side of the net to extend the Leopard advantage to 2-0 with 32:02 remaining.

Louisville protected that two-goal margin for the rest of the night.

Mann Earns Player of the Game Honors

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdLouisville’s defense turned in another strong performance against a Canfield attack that had challenged the Lady Leopards throughout the programs’ previous meetings.

Avery Mann was recognized as Player of the Game by YSN for her defensive effort as Louisville held the Cardinals scoreless for the full 80 minutes.

The shutout continued an impressive run by the Leopard back line during Louisville’s march through the AAC schedule.

Edgein Records Seventh Shutout of Season

Mongiardo Power Wash AdGoalkeeper Tristyn Edgein recorded her seventh shutout of the season as Louisville kept Canfield off the scoreboard.

The clean sheet was also Louisville’s second shutout against the Cardinals all-time and came less than two weeks after the Lady Leopards surrendered just one goal in their first meeting of the season.

With Edgein in net and the defense in front of her holding firm, Louisville preserved the 2-0 advantage through the rainy conditions and moved another step closer to completing an unbeaten AAC campaign.

Louisville Sweeps Canfield, Wins Third Straight in Series

Saturday marked the ninth all-time meeting between Louisville and Canfield.

The Lady Leopards have now won three consecutive games in the series, following a 1-0 home victory in 2017 and their two AAC wins this season.

Louisville defeated Canfield 3-1 on the road on September 28 before completing the season sweep with Saturday’s 2-0 shutout.

The victory improves Louisville to 4-5 all-time against Canfield, including a 2-1 record at home. The Lady Leopards have also now shut out the Cardinals twice in series history.

Canfield still holds a 27-9 advantage in total goals across the nine meetings, a reflection of several lopsided Cardinal victories earlier in the series. Louisville, however, has outscored Canfield 6-1 over the last three meetings.
