The #18 seed Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team defeated the host #16 seed St. Vincent-St. Mary 6-1 in the DIII Northeast 5 District Semifinals Tuesday evening at Firestone Stadium in Akron. With the victory, Louisville has now won three straight improving to 14-13 on the season. The Lady Leopards will next face the #4 seed Medina Buckeye Bucks in the DIII Northeast 5 District Championship on a date to be announced.

Kaitlin Twinem drove in four runs on three hits to lead Louisville Varsity Leopards past St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish 6-1 on Tuesday at 1575 Firestone Pkwy. Twinem tripled in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring one.
Louisville Varsity Leopards jumped out to the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Twinem tripled, scoring three runs, and an error scored one run.
Katelynn Miller earned the win for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The pitcher gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Cameron Eckroad stepped in the circle first for St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish. The hurler surrendered two hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking two. Taylor Schneider collected the save.
Anna Sirohman collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards in three at bats. Louisville Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game. Louisville Varsity Leopards were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Addy Campbell made the most plays with seven.
Eckroad led St. Vincent-St. Mary Varsity Fighting Irish with one run batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day.
