Jenny Can Cleaning AdThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team upended the visiting South Range Raiders 72-25 in their home opener Saturday Night at Louisville High School. With their third straight victory, Louisville improves to 3-2 on the season.

Aljancic Scores Game High 17 for LHS

Senior wing Will Aljancic scored a game high 17 points to lead the Leopards. Also scoring double figures for LHS were junior guard Hayden Nigro with 12 and sophomore forward Brayden Gross with 10.

Altogether eight different Louisville players scored from the field. The Leopards also converted 14 of 19 (74%) free throws from the charity stripe.


Leopards Win Game in First Quarter

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLouisville was eager to impress the home crowd after starting the season away from LHS in their first four games. The Leopards roared out of the gate to a 15-0 lead with 5:23 remaining in the first quarter. 

Louisville went on to outscore South Range 29-7 in the opening period. The 29 points scored by the Leopards in the opening stanza would prove to be more than what the Raiders would score throughout the entire contest.

Louisville expanded their lead to 48-14 by halftime. The Leopards opened up the second half on an 8-0 run to push the margin past 35. That invoked the mercy rule and running clock the rest of the way. Louisville led 69-21 at the end of three quarters and rolled to victory after that.


Moore Scores Team High 11 for Raiders

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdJunior forward Landon Moore scored in every quarter en rout to finishing with a team high 11 points for South Range. Other Raider top scorers included senior forward Ayden Leon with 6 and junior shooting guard Dyland Turvey with 4.

The Leopards are now 2-0 all-time against the Raiders. Louisville won at South Range 61-39 in their only other meeting last season.
