Rankin Wins 4 Events as Girls Finish 2nd, Boys Take 4th At NBC Meet

Mackenzie Rankin Louisville Lady Leopards Track NBC Meet

The Louisville Leopards track teams competed at the Northeastern Buckeye Conference Meet Friday at Marlington High School. The Boys Squad took 4th and the Girls Squad took 2nd overall at the meet.

Mackenzie Rankin tore up the field by placing first in four different events. Rankin broke her own NBC Record (17-01.50 feet) with a long jump of 17-03.5 feet. She then went on to claim the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.71), 300 Meter Hurdles (45.92), and the 3200 Meter Run (11:45.47).

The only other Louisville first place finish came from Nick Thomas who won the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 4:27.21.

The Girls 4×100 Meter Relay team of Adriana Beaver, Lizzy Mont, Courtney Guiley, and Bethany Beaver (50.39) were the only Leopards to place second in an event. The Beatty's Sports Track Shirt 2013Girls 4×400 Meter Relay team of Mont, Samantha Gronow, Beaver, and Devin Kring (4:19.44) also took third, while Mont finished in third in the 100 Meter Dash (12.59) as well.

The boys squad finished in third place in four events. These included Thomas in the 800 Meter Run (2:02.39), Sebastian Swartz in the 3200 Meter Run (10:00.27), Mitch Cavalier in the Long Jump (19-09.00), and the 4×800 Meter team of Andrew Milburn, Ben Tornow, Brady Menegay, and Thomas (8:30.69).

With the NBC Meet in their rearview mirror, the track team will look to improve upon their efforts in the DI North Canton District Meet held at Hoover High School next week.
