JV Football Wins at Previously Unbeaten Salem to Claim NBC
Louisville 20, Salem 13
The Louisville Leopards JV Football team handed the host Salem Quakers their first loss of the season with a 20-13 victory at Reilly Stadium Saturday Morning. With the win, Louisville finishes with a record of 6-2-1 overall and wins the NBC with a record of 5-0-1.
Quarterback Jack Davis threw an 18 yard touchdown pass to Logan Thomas to put the Leopards in front 20-0 with 4:47 left in the first half. Earlier, Sean McKinney scored on a short touchdown run and Gavn VanZant broke free up the middle for a 62 yard touchdown scamper
Salem would score two touchdowns to cut into the Louisville lead. Quarterback Mitch Davidson threw two touchdown strikes to Wide Receiver Chase Ackerman.
However, the Leopards defense prevented the game tying touchdown when Michael Seaman picked off a pass in the endzone. Other Louisville defensive highlights included Justin Vanover recording a safety and Max Marino recovering a fumble after a strip by Willie Oliver.
