Louisville Takes 2nd at Tri-County Postseason Tournament – Girls Golf

The Louisville Leopards Girls Golf Team competed at the Tri-County Postseason Tournament Thursday at Zoar Golf Club. The Lady Leopards shot 333 as a team to finish in second place out of 14 competing schools.

Based upon points for all tournaments and matches, Louisville finishes as the Tri-County South Division Champions for the year. 

Ralston Takes 3rd and Strouse 5th

Lady Leopard senior Alexis Ralston shot a team low 3 over par 75 to finish tied with New Philadelphia’s Sydney Devore for third place individually. Ralston matched individual runner-up Sammi Miller of Garaway by posting a tournament low 36 on the front nine before tallying a 39 on the the back nine.

Fellow Louisville senior Erin Strouse also shot 39 on the back nine en rout to finishing fifth overall with a 77 for the day. Rounding out the scoring for LHS were seniors Abby Davis and Claire Weston who shot 88 and 93 respectively.

Davis, Ralston, and Strouse all earned 1st Team All-Tri-County League honors for the season.

Other Lady Leopard golfers included senior Lauren L’Amoreaux who carded 95 and sophomore Peyton Biery who finished with 101.

Mort Leads Marlington to Tournament Title

The Marlington Dukes won the tournament finishing just four strokes ahead of the Leopards at 329. Marlington was led by tournament medalist Zoe Mort who shot 2 under par 70 for the day including a tournament low 33 on the back nine. 

The Garaway Pirates took third place after winning a fifth man tie-breaker over the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders who took fourth. Both teams finished with 336 for the day. Miller led Garaway by recording a 2 over par 74 for the tournament finishing as individual runner-up.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next compete at the Stark County Championships Tournament on Saturday, September 23. Tournament is set to begin at 9:00 AM from Arrowhead Golf Club.
