Oberster Scores Record 9 Goals as Louisville Rolls SVSM – Girls Lacrosse

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team rolled past the visiting St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish 18-4 Thursday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville stays perfect with a 5-0 record.
Alexa Oberster set the Leopards single game team scoring record by netted home 9 goals on 11 shots during the contest. The performance eclipsed the previous 7 goal individual record set twice last season. Oberster scored 7 goals at home against Lake in 13-5 victory on April 28, 2016. Emily Hollifield also hit home 7 goals in the inaugural Louisville Girls Lacrosse game at Lake in a 16-3 win on April 2, 2016. Oberster also recorded an assist and fielded a team-high 3 ground balls to lead the Leopards.

Mandy Wesely finished with a a hat trick and both Katie Hollifield & Kloe Mercorelli scored a pair of goals each for Louisville. Haley Black and Lauren Simon also added goals to round out the Leopards scoring. Black and Marissa Vick were credited with assists as well.
On defense, Celia Keefe had 4 saves in goal. Hollifield also field 3 ground balls and caused 2 turnovers for Louisville.
With the victory, the Leopards are now 2-0 against the Fighting Irish all-time. They have outscored St. Vincent-St. Mary a combined 27-5 in those two contests.
