Miller Delivers in 7th for Leopards

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdThe Fighting Irish rallied from an earlier 3-0 deficit and knotted the game in the top of the seventh on a double steal. This afforded the Leopards an ample opportunity for a walk-off with the heart of the lineup coming to bat.

Senior second baseman/pitcher Connor Morley led off the inning with a single to left field. Morley was replaced at first base by junior pinch runner Bryce Graziani following the hit. Junior catcher Karson Siegfried followed with a double to lfeft field that advanced Graziani to third base with no one out.

Junior first baseman Cole Miller stepped into the batter’s box next. After taking a strike, Miller drove the next pitch to right field for a walk-off single that easily scored the winning run in Graziani from third.

Louisville Builds 3-0 Lead

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdLouisville built a 3-0 lead earlier in the contest. Miller scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning. He walked, advanced to second via an error on a pickoff attempt, and then came home on sophomore right fielder Cooper Rice’s RBI single to center.

The Leopards tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the third. Senior centerfielder Charlie Roberts cracked a 2-out single to left field. Morley followed with a line drive single to center and an error by the St. Vincent-St. Mary center fielder allowed Roberts to score all the way from first. The error also put Morley into scoring position.

Jenny Can Cleaning AdLike an instant replay, Siegfried also hit a line drive to center field on the next pitch to plate Morley from second and make it 3-0 Louisville.

The Leopards would out-hit the Fighting Irish 10-9 for the game. Senior left fielder Kyle Vesely batted a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. Morley and Siegfried also both went 2-for-4 at the dish.

Fighting Irish Rally Late to Tie Game at 3-3

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieJunior starting pitcher Zach Root shutout the Fighting Irish during the first five innings of action. Root allowed just 2 hits in that span, while striking out 1 and walking 2 batters.

St. Vincent-St. Mary finally broke through by manufacturing a pair of runs in the sixth inning. Junior first baseman Daniel Krabill and senior left fielder/pitcher Shane Adamcoyk delivered back-to-back 2-out RBI singles to get the Irish to within 3-2.

Morley came on for a save opportunity in the seventh inning. However, St. Vincent-St. Mary was able to knot the game up on a double steal. Junior center fielder Max Milkovich successfully stole second base and, more importantly, avoided being the game-ending out. Sophomore designated player Tyler Slone was able to take advantage of the distraction and steal home for the game-tying run. Morley would still notch the victory as the Leopards delivered in the bottom half of the frame.

Krabill and Milkovich each finished with multi-hit games to lead the Fighting Irish offense.
